Project 11: Deconstructing Deconstruction

The Interplay of Material, Movement, and Sound

Deconstructing Deconstruction delves into the intricate dynamics between material agency and socio-political constructs. Further, it challenges the conventional one-dimensional understanding of deconstruction by questioning its efficacy as a tool for societal transformation. This segment offers a critical view of the deconstruction process itself, highlighting its limitations and implications within socio-political contexts. It prompts reflection on whether deconstruction truly leads to genuine progress and social change and encourages a broader consideration of multilateral approaches to transforming prevailing radical ideologies and structures.

Project 12: Intra-Active Relationship

Experimental Light, Sound, and Virtual Material

The experimental video series is a investigation of the intricate interplay and effects of light, sound, and material. It creates a unique sensory journey that pushes the boundaries of perception, engaging with the dynamics of creativity. It investigate how our environment shapes our experiences, revealing the transformative power of substance-art and inviting viewers to experience the world in new and unexpected ways.

In this context, light and sound are understood as forms of affect that interact with abstract/real, visible/invisible, and material/immaterial elements, shaping our understanding of the world. Light, as an affect, possesses the capacity to influence and be influenced, emphasizing the ways in which bodies—including light, sound, and materials—interact to create experiences. It evokes emotions, perceptions, and reactions, functioning as a dynamic agent in shaping our experiences. Similarly, sound is a vibration traveling through a medium (such as air, water, or solid materials) that influences our experiences in ways akin to light. Like light, sound is an affect—an agent that impacts our experiences, evoking specific responses. This series highlights the significance of the interconnectedness of these elements and their roles in shaping our experiences and perceptions.(This description represents only a partial aspect of this project.)
